at SEANCHAI LIBRARY in SECOND LIFE
Seanchai ("Storyteller" in Irish) Library celebrates the Celtic tradition of stories told around the hearth or in the pub to friends, family, and welcomed strangers. Seanchai Libraries bring stories of all kinds to life, in Second Life.
In that mythical realm, the Real World, Caledonia coordinates a national poetry recitation program for her state arts organization. Every year, students across her state choose poems from a curated anthology from over 1100 classic and contemporary poems. Every year, she marvels at the works students connect with and choose.
This year's batch are more diverse than normal, and Cale will share selections tonight. Live in the main library story floor. https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Nowhereville/204/43/26

Stories return to the Library in March!
120 years ago this month, and unique creative mind was born. While the world has changed since the first days that the man we knew as Dr. Seuss first penned his whimsical tales, much of his canon of work is part of many of our young lives. Somehow the world would not quite be as bright a place if a mysterious cat might not knock on our doors unexpectedly, bringing excitement and danger to a boring day with the assurance, "Your Mother will not mind if you do!"

Established in April 2017 the Hawks Aerobatic Team is the culmination of a pylon race pilot joining forces with a seasoned combat pilot to experiment with importing well known RL aerobatic maneuvers into SL.
The Hawks took their name from the BAe Hawk they chose as their plane due to its superb handling characteristics and stability. After their first show as a 'solo team' the Hawks began recruiting and training pilots. The Hawks currently fly a 6-plane routine that includes a number of well-known maneuvers from RL aerobatics as well as some of their own unique creations.
The Hawks are joined in the air over Dickens Harbour by Anemone Wing Walkers, and Team Phoenix.

Winter ghost stories are a Victorian Tradition - after all, Dickens' A Christmas Carol is at heart a ghost story.
Trains became a popular mode of transport during Dickens’s lifetime, and he was a seasoned traveler, using the locomotive to travel the country to see friends and carry out his reading tours. But as this new technology developed there were also devastating accidents. Dickens himself experienced the Staplehurst Railway crash in 1865, a year before he wrote this story. Dickens was haunted by memories of the accident for the rest of his life.
“Now, sir, mark this, and judge how my mind is troubled. The spectre came back a week ago. Ever since, it has been there, now and again, by fits and starts.”
“At the light?”
“At the Danger-light.”
“What does it seem to do?”
He repeated, if possible with increased passion and vehemence, that former gesticulation of, “For God’s sake, clear the way!”
Then he went on. “I have no peace or rest for it. It calls to me, for many minutes together, in an agonised manner, ‘Below there! Look out! Look out!’ It stands waving to me. It rings my little bell—”
